Blackbird

Blackbird, Blackbird,
Sin and pleasure,
Thrush, Thrush,
Beat around the bush
And find a nest of honey
And softest thistledown
Owl, Owl,
Sin and pleasure,
Long night, blue moon, soft song,
Blackbird, Blackbird,
Kiss your heart alive again.

Catch

And quaff the lusty liquor
From dusty bottles
Filled in a bygone age
Wine milked from fruit
Tender and soft
Like the mouth of a lover
Like the soft kiss of tears
Sweet and bitter as honey
Smell the scent of the evening air
Like skin warmed by summer's sun
On misty mountaintops
Sip from bottles of clear red,
Drip drops faceted like the most precious of rubies
Onto the musk rose petals that quiver
Lie in soft grasses
With blushing daisies and weave chains to catch the moon
Touch the sky and bring me back Sapphires.
